### Job overview

The primary responsibility of this post, situated within the Trusts EDI Team, is to lead on the delivery of elements of the EDI work programme.

The EDI Team is responsible for leading, developing and delivering the Trust’s approach to equality, diversity and inclusion in terms of both the workforce and patients.

The team provides support and guidance to all Directorates and Departments across the Trust and other ODD workstreams.

This role will:

Support the Staff Network Groups.

Collaborate with departments across the Trust on the Equality Delivery System (EDS) 2022 reports.

Support with the analysis and identification of EDI data.

Work with members of the EDI team to collaborate on staff and patient engagement. This includes consulting with communities and stakeholders to improve service delivery and addressing issues relating to health inequalities.

Research into, and report on, best practice and innovation for EDI on a national level.

Support the Trust to meet its legal obligations and annual reporting requirements including, but not limited to, the Equality Act 2010, Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), Equality Delivery System (EDS2), Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and the Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES), as well as inform its EDI objectives.

Develop and analyse key workforce information over a range of key metrics that identify high priority areas for intervention and transformation.

Lead on the use of EDI data, including identifying best practice that the Trust can learn from.

Work collaboratively with all Leads, Clinical Leads, Project and Programme Managers and form key relationships with stakeholders.

Supporting, Facilitating & Leading

Assist with the development, implementation and review of all EDI policies, procedures and protocols.

Provide clear direction to ensure that the parameters of EDI transformation interventions and programmes are clearly identified and documented including the identification of how the benefits will be realised.

Ensure clear lines of EDI communication and consultation with key stakeholders and members of the internal teams, ensuring interdependencies are clearly identified and proactive actions taken.

Working with other members of the EDI Team and the Communications Team, develop open and honest EDI communications with all key stakeholders including communicating information that may be highly complex and potentially controversial.

### Experience and knowledge required

**Essential**

- Proficient understanding of the NHS landscape and specifically an Acute Clinical setting.
- Specialist EDI knowledge, practical application and experience in change management, modernisation, service redesign, facilitation and successful implementation of service improvements at a senior level.
- Demonstrated experience of delivering and co-ordinating EDI programmes in complex and challenging environments.
- Experience of leading and managing projects or programmes.
- Experience of designing and delivering training to a wide audience.
- Knowledge and clear understanding of the current NHS plan deliverables, local delivery plans, and the national modernisation agenda, with experience of translating national guidance locally.
- Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information
- Experience of working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, at all levels.
- Ability to identify and/or research new developments in EDI and translate these into practical applications.

**Desirable**

- Successful senior experience in a Public Sector environment.
- Significant management and EDI experience at a senior level where change and improvement skills have been required within the post.
- Knowledge of research, audit, data collection and analysis methodologies and the ability to translate baseline measures into demonstrable service developments and changes.

### Education, qualifications and training

**Essential**

- Masters Degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent gained through a combination of short courses and experience or clinical experience and qualification.
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
- Relevant lived experience.
