Under direction of the Estates Supervisor and or Estates Manager ensure all buildings, plant and equipment are electrically serviced and maintained throughout Mile End Hospital and or Royal London Hospital Retained Estate in accordance with Statutory & Mandatory requirements in a timely manner. Including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance (RM), minor works, major overhauls and replacement. In addition, the Senior Electrical Craftsperson will be required to be a self-starter who is able to work on his/her own initiative. ### Main duties of the job - Lead the estates electrical team and maintenance contractors to ensure statutory, critical and routine tasks are completed, recorded, and fully documented for the Estates Management Team. - Support the in‑house electrical team and contractors by ensuring adequate spares and materials are available for efficient completion of works. - Implement improvement plans where poor performance is identified within the electrical team, escalating concerns to the Estates Supervisor or Estates Manager if progress is not achieved. - Review completed electrical works to ensure quality, timeliness and cost‑effectiveness, addressing any issues directly with staff or contractors. - Provide technical support and leadership to resolve electrical faults. - Promote and uphold health and safety requirements for staff, patients, visitors and contractors through safe systems of work, site inductions, and risk/COSHH assessments. - Work with the Estates Supervisor or Estates Manager, alongside the BHT contract performance team, to support effective auditing and ensure full compliance in delivering Trust electrical services across in‑house and PFI/outsourced provision. - Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation, safety alerts, HTMs, NBNs, safe systems of work, approved codes of practice, and associated policies. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities The full job description provides an overview of the key tasks and responsibilities of the role, and the person specification outlines the qualifications, skills, experience, and knowledge required.
