- High-Volume Centre: Work in one of the busiest units in the UK, renowned for its excellence in neurocritical care, neurology, neurosurgery, neurotrauma and interventional neuroradiology. Southmead Hospital has a 24 hour a day 7 day a week acute stroke thrombectomy service and is one of the busiest centres in Europe. It delivers some of the highest neurotrauma survival rates in the UK
- Unique Rotations: Benefit from immersive rotations including in Interventional Neuroradiology and Neurosurgery, allowing you to gain a deep understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of neurocritical care.

## Person Specification

### Work Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of Critical Care in relevant sub-specialties to NBT.
- Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices
- At least 4 years’ experience an acute specialty appropriate to ICU with recognised postgraduate experience in an approved training post or posts offering equivalent responsibility and training.

**Desirable**

- Evidence of extensive experience in sub-specialties reflected in the job description.
- Intermediate or Advanced training in ICM

### Personal Qualities

**Essential**

- Ability to fulfil all of the duties of the post including acute on-call commitments, evening and weekend working.
- Fluent in English (IELTS Level 7 or equivalent).
- Mobility and dexterity compatible with clinical requirements of the post.
- Prepared to be flexible in working patterns

### Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

**Essential**

- Competent in Intensive Care at Senior Fellow level.
- Significant demonstration of interest in research.
- Evidence of recent CPD and progress through training at a rate appropriate to seniority and responsibilities of the post.

**Desirable**

- Papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
- Good Clinical Practice certification within last 3 years.
- Experience in presenting research at local, national and international meetings.
- Experience of application for study grants
- Contribution to national and international guidelines.

### Education/Training/Qualifications

**Essential**

- MB BS (or equivalent)
- Full and unrestricted registration with GMC
- FFICM or FRCA or equivalent or appropriate diploma relevant to postgraduate training

- ALS/ATLS provider status (or equivalent)
