### Job summary

A fantastic 7 month fixed term / secondmentopportunityhas arisen for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner within the Crediton Core Adult Mental Health Team based at Crediton Hospital.

As part of Devon Partnership Trust, the team at Crediton provides mental health treatments and interventions to adults of working age across rural and coastal demographics that combine to make this a fascinating and beautiful area to work.

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, motivated and skilled service helping the team to build upon their achievements and continue to work to improve the interventions that they provide.

Please note this post is for 30 hours per week.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver high quality comprehensive mental health services. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on providing expert assessment and treatment for people with complex mental health difficulties. Liaising with the persons family, carers and partner agencies to provide and balanced and informed approach.

Adopting a recovery co-ordination approach to mutually design a personalised plan of treatment packages that is agreed by the individual and evaluated to evaluate efficacy and patient experience.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and energy who wants to make a difference to peoples lives; is creative, innovative and highly motivated. You must have assessment and care planning skills and experience in mental health and multi-disciplinary working is desirable.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to exercise clinical judgement in respect of assessing and managing risk. In addition, you need to be committed to the values and principles of recovery, and able to help deliver a safe, timely, caring and responsive service. ## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Specialist knowledge and experience of acute mental health issues within working age and Older adults. An understanding of the Care Programme Approach / Local Mental Health Care Pathways / Mental Health Act / Mental Health Capacity Act & DOLS requirements.

**Desirable**

- Awareness of community structures and social care options and processes. Understanding of recovery principles in Mental Health

### Experience

**Essential**

- Substantial experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment. Providing clinical supervision. Assessment experience (particularly mental health & risk).

**Desirable**

- Working within a community mental health setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector. Participation in user involvement in services.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- A professional mental health qualification eg: RMN, CQSW / ASW, BSc/Diploma in OT A current registration with a professional body ie NMC

**Desirable**

- Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism. Clinical Supervision qualification. Mentorship qualification. IT Skills

- Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems. Able to produce accurate, concise & well written reports. Ability to communicate with a wide range of professions from various settings. Evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner without direct supervision Able to own problems and get involved in the solutions. Biopsychosocial assessment, leading to formulation and planning.
