We are recruiting a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join our Team in Central Norfolk Locality, where you will be based at Sophie Centre, Norwich.

We provide assessment and treatment for older people experiencing moderate to severe mental illness in the community. We work with service users with a variety of mental health concerns, alongside working closely with families and carers as well as external agencies to provide a holistic approach and work in a creative and flexible way to provide a positive outcome for our service users on their recovery journey.

Are you interested in developing your leadership skills whilst in a clinical role? Would you like to work in well supported, dynamic, enthusiastic recovery focused community team?

We are openly welcoming people from a diverse clinical background with experience in different areas of mental health. We are looking for innovative and focused practitioners who are determined to make a positive difference to the care of our Service Users.

You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, review and delivery of care and treatment in conjunction with the service users on your capped caseload. You will be expected to support duty cover for the team on a rostered basis and will liaise with other agencies to ensure care needs are met.

**Essential**

- Be able and willing to undertake further training / development specific to the role.
- Able to travel independently

**Desirable**

- Ability to transport patients as appropriate.
- Able to liaise with statutory / non-statutory bodies due to patients’ needs.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Able to demonstrate the ability to process, plan and delegate work
- Ability to identify and action change in health care need
- Satisfactory verbal and written English language skills

**Desirable**

- Able to time manage and reflect on clinical practice

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Up to date and evidence-based knowledge of Person Centred Care
- Working knowledge / application of the Mental Health Act

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of mental health needs for older people.
- Knowledge of national policy influencing older persons’ health care

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Familiar with risk assessment and its management

**Desirable**

- Previous community experience

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Mental Health Nurse with the relevant professional registration
- Practice Supervisor / Practice Assessor training (in line with NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment 2018)

**Desirable**

- Evidence at social care / health related study
