Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group is seeking a Senior Communications Officer for a 12 month period. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Communications and Engagement Team in an exciting and innovative multi-Trust Group, responsible for both hospital and community services across Lincolnshire.

Based in Lincoln, but with travel to other sites across Lincolnshire, this role will require you to work as part of a wider Group Communications and Engagement team to deliver a comprehensive communications service across both Lincolnshire Community Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH0.

You will be joining the Group at an exciting time, as it embraces the drive to shift more care into the community, and to use modern storytelling to support both staff and patients on that journey.

You will be an enthusiastic team player, with excellent interpersonal, organisation and writing skills and experience of press office, internal comms and stakeholder management.

### Main duties of the job

The post includes general communications duties including delivery of internal and external communications projects and media, social media management, stakeholder management and communications and supporting and advising Group leadership around communications activity.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role includes dealing with media enquiries, writing communications, graphic design, photography and videography, intranet and web publishing and social media.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Demonstrate expertise in the techniques which underpin effective communication and public relations

**Desirable**

- Website publishing, open source software packages such as FrontPage, Adobe Acrobat writer, InDesign

### Experience

**Essential**

- Specialist experience in PR or communications
- Dealing with crisis communications
- Using social media to engage and for PR

**Desirable**

- Arranging high profile events e.g. Ministerial or royal visits

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Specialist knowledge across a range of topics to degree level, such as Communications, PR, Marketing communication Experience in the communications field to postgraduate diploma level

**Desirable**

- PR, marketing, media or journalism qualification

### Specific requirements

**Essential**

- Ability to travel within Lincolnshire and to regional and national meetings on occasion

**Desirable**

- Access to vehicle for work purposes

### Skills and competencies

**Essential**

- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Ability to establish credibility and good working relationships at all levels
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Ability to effectively manage a number of different, competing priorities with confidence and to tight deadlines

- Creative skills - able to design and develop in-house newsletters, briefings, posters
- Video production and editing
