We welcome applications from psychologists who are newly qualified, as well as from those with more experience. The successful applicant will form part of the Clinical Health Psychology Services across Essex. We have four other Mental Health Liaison Psychological Services in Harlow, Chelmsford, Southend and Colchester, where there is a network of highly motivated, experienced Clinical and Counselling Psychologist colleagues. The applicant will be working within the CORE 24 model of Mental Health Liaison, looking to support people accessing the acute hospital and staff to consider the psychological aspects of health. This role requires an ability to create connections with services across physical and mental health providers and to be able to support holistic, system wide thinking. ### Main duties of the job This post supports psychological assessment, intervention, consultation and support to the Mental Health Liaison team, consisting of Liaison Psychiatry and Psychiatric Nurses. This post is part of a service which has been established for many years. The role is welcomed by Basildon Hospital and there will be opportunity for working across wards and specialty areas.  The post holder will be part of a small team of psychologists in Basildon liaison (Principal Psychologist, CAP) but also a wider network of liaison psychology colleagues across Essex. As part of the CORE 24 agenda, we not only work in inpatient services, but we are piloting a continued care outpatient clinic, supporting people who we have worked with in the hospital. The aim is to complete the work we have started with people and to reduce the need for unnecessary onward referral.
