The Clinical Engineering Department delivers medical equipment management services throughout the University Health Board. The department provides a broad range of complex, routine and non-routine activities including servicing, repair, calibration, safety testing, quality assurance, evaluation, commissioning, decommissioning, planned preventive maintenance of clinical equipment and devices. We currently have a vacancy for a Band 6 Senior Clinical Technologist. The successful candidate will become part of a team looking after all medical equipment in Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen and the surrounding community. ### Main duties of the job The post holder will be a key member of the Clinical Engineering team and will be required to largely work on their own initiative, carrying out certain planning functions in relation to preventive maintenance and inspections, along with problem solving on a wide range of complex equipment. This will include patient monitoring, anaesthetic machines, ventilators, medical lasers, infusion devices, baby incubators etc. which at times could be patient connected. The range of tasks required of the role will be carried out to the highest standards in support of the provision of high-quality patient care. The post holder’s duties and responsibilities will support a team effort and will be overseen by the local Principal Clinical Technologist and Head of Clinical Engineering.
