An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Renal team as a Band 3 senior clinical support worker at Dewsbury satellite haemodialysis unit (based at Dewsbury and District Hospital) - providing out-patient dialysis to 72 patients, 6 days/week. Dewsbury is an Adult Haemodialysis Unit, providing maintenance haemodialysis for patients with chronic renal failure. We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates who are committed to providing high quality care. The posts offer the opportunity to develop existing or new specialist skills. We offer an individualized in-service induction package supported by our Renal Clinical Educators.

Abdominal Medicine and Surgery (AMS) is the largest and most complex CSU at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT). We provide acute and elective inpatient services, diagnostic services, see large numbers of outpatients and deliver life-long care. We have 14 inpatient ward areas located in Lincoln Wing and Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital, endoscopy units across three sites and 7 satellite dialysis units across West Yorkshire. As a CSU we want to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and passionate people who share our commitment to provide excellent patient centred care and experience.

What you will bring to the role

The jobholder will be actively involved in providing direct and indirect compassionate care for patients in support of the multidisciplinary team. The jobholder will undertake a range of delegated clinical patient care duties under the support and supervision of a registered practitioner.

The jobholder will assist in the overall implementation and evaluation of care as part of the multi professional team. The jobholder is expected to plan, implement, deliver and maintain high standards of patient care. The jobholder will be skilled in taking appropriate action(s) and acting on own initiative to achieve the planned outcome.

The jobholder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care.

The jobholder will be expected to practice in accordance within Trust policies, guidelines, standards and statutory requirements and operate within defined competency boundaries.

The jobholder must comply with the wearing of PPE as appropriate to the clinical situation - this may involve wearing face masks for a considerable length of time.
