With the support of the lead pharmacist, the successful candidate will lead initiatives to optimise patient care in the trust. This position represents a significant opportunity for professional growth and impact within our team.

### Main duties of the job

- To lead, deliver, develop and evaluate general clinical pharmacy services in accordance with the objectives and priorities agreed between the post holder, Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Services Manager in order to ensure safe, clinically effective, and cost efficient use of medicines.
- To be a valued member of the clinical pharmacy team, work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams to provide a consistently highly specialist pharmaceutical service to patients on acutewards.
- To provide a consistently highly pharmaceutical service for patients within a range of areas within the acute hospital wherever needed.
- To be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the department and wider teams to ensure optimal medicines usage and value for money.
- To provide a framework for the safe, efficient and cost effective use of medicines within the Trust, by developing procedures, policies and guidelines, and participating in clinical audit.
- To participate in multidisciplinary ward-based education and training of junior doctors, pharmacists and nursing staff.
- To provide daily ward visits to acute wards as well inputting on appropriate guidelines and attend MDT ward rounds.
- To provide regular support to the dispensary.

- Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
- Relevant hospital experience

- MSC
- Previous publications in national journals
- Independent Prescriber
- Previous experience as a tutor or mentor
