Are you a passionate Clinical or Counselling Psychologist looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity?

Join our Intensive Support Team in our Learning Disability Service in Oxfordshire and become part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality psychological care to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

This post is being advertised as 22.5-37.5 hours, depending on the candidate's preference, and would allow for the possibility of flexible working. In addition this post is being advertised as a Band 7 to 8a.

### Main duties of the job

- Delivering specialist psychological assessments and interventions.
- Providing consultation and advice to multidisciplinary colleagues across the LD service.
- Delivering individual and group therapy.
- Supervising Assistant Psychologists and supporting Trainee Clinical Psychologists where appropriate.
- Contributing to service development, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promoting evidence-based, person-centred psychological practice across the team

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

- Skills in the use of analysing complex information from many sources in order to make decisions regarding appropriate treatment pans, frequently requiring sustains and intense concentration
- Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnosis, people with additional disabilities etc.)
- High level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
- Experience of working with considerable autonomy, and exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care, treatment and discharge.
- Demonstrate further specialist training/experience through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision of working as a specialist clinical psychologist over a minimum of 18 months, or an alternative Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision. Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts. agreed by the Director of Psychology.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
- Training in clinical supervision of doctoral trainee clinical psychologists.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and nonprofessional groups.
- Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
- IT skills to use word processing, data entry, statistical packages and Powerpoint for presentations.

**Desirable**

- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology
- Training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
- Formal IT training
