The role is based across two teams in Barrow-in-Furness and Kendal who already work closely together. The post will be supported by a Principal Clinical Psychologist based within the Lancaster Home Based Treatment team and the Consultant Clinical Psychologist who works across the Acute and Urgent Pathways. The Home Based Treatment Teams provides care for people experiencing acute episodes of mental illness or emotional distress. The service offers intensive support to service users and their families in the community. The service works closely with other agencies and mental health services. An interest in working with individuals with a wide range of presentations will be essential, as are skills in taking an active role within a multidisciplinary framework. ### Main duties of the job The post is focused on providing a balance of direct and indirect work. With time dedicated to providing individual assessment, formulation and intervention to service users, alongside potential group work. There is also an expectation that the role will also encompass service development, staff support and training alongside consultation work with other professionals. The post will sit as part of a team of psychologists working within the area. The successful applicant will be welcomed as part of the service which encourages development of specific interests. There is also potential to explore opportunities to take on further development of competencies and longer term therapy work by working with other teams and services if desired and aligning with service and individual development needs. It is expected that you are able to demonstrate the attributes in the Job Description and Person Specification as a minimum. Part time and flexible working will be considered.
