Are you an ambitious pharmacist seeking a rewarding role leading improvement in antimicrobial stewardship? We are looking for a dynamic clinical pharmacist to join our Medicines Management team, taking a Trust-wide lead in antimicrobial stewardship while delivering a specialist service to Intermediate Care Units. You will work in a forward-thinking environment using Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) systems (training provided), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, Trust forums and the Infection Prevention & Control team to influence practice and improve patient outcomes. We welcome pharmacists from all healthcare settings with experience leading quality improvements, including clinical audit, patient group directions and clinical governance. The Trust supports ongoing professional development and offers flexible, agile working, with up to full-time hours and a requirement to travel across Sussex from a base at Brighton, Crawley or Horsham.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- At least 5 years relevant post-registration experience
- Providing clinical pharmacy services within an acute setting or similar setting with direct patient contact.
- Clinical audits. Full audit cycle. Plan, organise the collection of data, analyse data, findings, recommendations and audit report writing. Follow-ups
- Experience of writing policies, procedures and protocols
- Broad specialist clinical pharmacy knowledge
- Experience implementing national guidance and strategy relating to medicines
- Ability to demonstrate evidence of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of implementing clinical governance and continuous improvement.
- Developing and delivering medicines management training to other healthcare professionals.
- Involved in identifying and assessing risk to improve patient safety
- Familiarity with the concepts of evidence based medicines.
- Expertise of addressing and resolving legal issues related to medicines.
- Addressing, implementing and monitoring compliance with NHS Improvement Patient Safety Alerts related to medicines

**Desirable**

- Experience of working with older people with complex health needs as a clinical pharmacist.
- Working with a community health services setting
- Experience of provision of medicines information and associated systems.
- Developing and undertaking clinical and non-clinical audits.
- Antimicrobial Stewardship knowledge and experience on relevant areas of community health services
- Developing and writing patient group directions (PGDs)
- Managing or advising on drug budgets and drugs costs and how to monitor these

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Masters degree MPharm
- Registered pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined) professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) UK.
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent

**Desirable**

- MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
- Non-Medical Prescriber

### Other Requirements

- Requirement to travel cost effectively across the area covered by Sussex Community NHS Trust
- Able to cope with interruptions when busy
