The purpose of these posts is to support service delivery in particular the provision of weekend endoscopy (on a 1:6 basis) as well as weekday backfill and infill for vacant lists.  As such, successful candidates must be fully accredited to perform independent upper and lower GI endoscopy. Candidates should express, in their application, an interest to join one of the clinical themes (with the opportunity to cross-cover between individuals) with supporting reasoning. Choice of theme will be discussed at interview and allocated on discussion with theme leads and appropriateness to the experience and interests of applicants. For interested candidates, support towards a higher degree may be considered. ### Main duties of the job Together with the other team members, to deliver elective endoscopy including backfill and weekend endoscopy as a timetabled activity. Contribute to departmental research interests in accordance with the Trust’s R&D framework. Contribute to the audit programmes, Morbidity and Mortality, clinical governance programs and learning from Deaths. Conduct all activities within the contracted level of service and operating plan for service(s). Be aware of, and comply with, all Trust infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene.
