Imperial College Health NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for applicants to apply the post of Senior Clinical  Fellow in Pelvic Uro-Oncology. This Fellowship will be for a fixed term period of 12 months to commence in October 2026. There will be an opportunity to extend the fellowship for a second year for candidates who demonstrate satisfactory progress and are a strong fit within the department.

The fellowship represents an excellent opportunity for a senior trainee who wishes a to embark on a career in robotic pelvic surgery.

The post is based in the Imperial College Urology Department at the Charing Cross Hospital, one of the high volume pelvic cancer units in the UK. The Fellowship will involve exposure to all elements of pelvic cancer management including clinic, MDT and substantial operative experience. The pelvic oncology team undertake close to  120 cases per year ranging from cystectomy, pelvic exenteration, complex reconstruction, nephroureterectomy and prostatectomy.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will form an integral part of the urology team focused on the management of pelvic cancer. Surgical experience will include exposure to:

- Robot-assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal urinary diversion (ileal conduit and orthotopic neobladder)
- Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, including complex and salvage cases
- Robotic and open nephroureterectomy for upper tract urothelial carcinoma
- Complex reconstructive surgery, including continent diversion and ureteral reconstruction
- Collaboration with colorectal and gynaecology in benign and malignant complex cases including pelvic exenteration

In addition, the post holder will be expected to;

- Attend he specialist urothelial oncology MDT and participation in post-MDT decision-making clinics.
- Have active management of patient pathways from diagnosis through treatment and surveillance, including regular outpatient clinic
- Have the opportunity to complete at least 1 research project and write a minimum of 1 peer reviewed publication.
- During a 12-month period the appointee will also have exposure to the urological on call rota where they can expect to see all common urological oncology problems and pathologies.
- We welcome applications from surgeons who have completed (or are within six months of completing) higher surgical training in urology (post CCT), or who hold an equivalent international qualification.

- To take an active role in managing patient pathways in their respective area.
- To undertake administrative duties associated with their patients in line with departmental guidelines.
- To support with the training of junior specialist trainees and other junior doctors in the Urology department.
- To oversee the appropriate booking of urothelial cancer theatre lists.
- To demonstrate excellent leadership skills within the wider urology team.
- To work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and Imperial College as required.
- Adhere to Trust / departmental guidelines on leave including reporting absence.
