## Job Content

### Job overview

Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynecology

The post will suit a candidate who has achieved ST3–5 level competencies and wishes to further develop their knowledge and clinical skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, particularly in the management of women with both chronic and acute medical conditions.

There are well-established multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) across several subspecialties including urogynaecology, minimal access surgery, gynaecological oncology, feto-maternal medicine, and general obstetrics and gynaecology. These services will provide the successful candidate with ample opportunity to develop clinical skills and gain competency across a broad range of areas.

Dedicated time will be allocated for attendance at specialist clinics, obstetrics and gynaecology operating theatres, and local MDT meetings, ensuring a balanced exposure to both obstetric and gynaecological practice.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be encouraged to enrol in the RCOG Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSM), as per availability. Please refer to RCOG ATSM requirements for further details. Where necessary, additional training opportunities can be facilitated at tertiary centres to support completion of ATSM competencies.

The post holder will actively participate in departmental teaching programmes, clinical audits, and governance meetings. There will also be opportunities to engage in research activities and contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Although this post is not formally recognised for training purposes, it will be covered by the Terms and Conditions for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff (England and Wales), with salary aligned to the appropriate scale, including London Weighting Allowance.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the on-call rota (approximately 1:9), including night shifts, and contribute to the elective rota covering labour ward, maternity services, lower segment caesarean section (LSCS) lists, and the Day Assessment Unit. There will also be a component of general and emergency gynaecology cover. The role is predominantly day-based,
