Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required. Candidate is expected to work at the level of a ST6-ST7 senior registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice. Hull University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an Equal Opportunities Employer. This post has arisen due to middle grade expansion for a period of 24 months.

### Main duties of the job

The post will enable us to maintain an adequate level of obstetrics and gynaecology activity and will be an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain further experience in the speciality. It is full-time position however if candidate is unable, for personal reasons, work full time, candidate will still be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job description will be discussed on a personal basis following consultation with College Tutors.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Level 4 Entrustability in Emergency Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent (work under indirect supervision out of hours

**Desirable**

- Level 4 entrustability in Elective obstetrics and gynaecology or equivalent
- NHS experience 6 months

### Other Requirements

**Essential**

- Good leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, GP's, nurses and other agencies
- Enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure
- Good organisational, escalation and management skills
- Supportive and tolerant
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Caring attitude to patients

**Desirable**

- Express Genuine Interest in progressing towards CESR and application for consultant roles in O&G in the UK

### Education and Training

**Essential**

- Full registration with the GMC
- Part 3 MRCOG

**Desirable**

- MD or other postgraduate qualification
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register

### Skills, Knowledge and Ability

**Essential**

- Computer literate
- Experience of supervising junior medical staff and teaching junior medical staff/ medical students
- Experience of Audit,QI,Research and Presentations

**Desirable**

- Evidence of management
- Administration experience
