## Job Content

### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Clinical Fellow in Hepatology to provide maternity leave cover for the Band 8a Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialist service for a period of 12 months.

The successful candidate will work as an autonomous senior member of the Hepatology multidisciplinary team, providing specialist outpatient management for patients with chronic liver disease. The post combines the clinical leadership, service development and care-coordination functions of the Hepatology CNS role with the advanced clinical decision-making skills of a senior registrar-level doctor.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage a large outpatient hepatology caseload, support admission avoidance and early discharge pathways, lead surveillance programmes for patients with cirrhosis, provide specialist advice across the Trust, and contribute to education, audit, quality improvement and service development.

The role is predominantly outpatient based and offers an excellent opportunity for a senior trainee or post-CCT fellow wishing to gain extensive experience in advanced hepatology service delivery, ambulatory hepatology care and multidisciplinary leadership.
