We welcome applications from those who wish to work less than full time or full time. You will work under the supervision of the Gastroenterology Consultants and usually be based on the Preston Site, although you may be asked to cover duties at the Chorley site when required. There will be opportunities to see in-patient Gastroenterology referrals and attend specialist out-patient clinics. When not covering the wards the successful applicant would be expected to attend a wider number of speciality clinics as well as endoscopy sessions. The post permanent and will provide good training in Gastroenterology with exposure to some tertiary specialist services. ### Main duties of the job The gastro SCF will form a key part of the gastroenterology team. Whilst covering the wards the post-holder would be expected to participate in ward-rounds and ward multi-disciplinary team meetings. There are daily Consultant ward rounds providing ample opportunities for teaching and development on a dedicated Gastroenterology ward. There are a variable number of outlying medical patients who are shared between existing medical teams. There will be opportunities to see in-patient Gastroenterology referrals and attend specialist out-patient clinics such as Viral Hepatitis, Nutrition and Hepatology. When not covering the wards, the successful applicant would be expected to attend clinics as well as endoscopy sessions.
