Please see person specification for essential criteria we are looking for you to match. Successful candidates will join a team of middle grade staff to provide cardiology services across both sites of Nottingham University Hospital. Post holders will also participate in the cardiology out of hours on call rota. ### Main duties of the job The post offers an excellent opportunity for gaining experience in clinical cardiology, cardiac investigations (including echo), interventional procedures, audit, research and teaching in a large tertiary centre cardiology department. The experience will provide a firm footing in all aspects of clinical cardiology and will enhance the chance of successfully gaining a place in a recognised cardiology training programme. The post has been substantially revised to provide development and education in Cardiology. The post is suitable for a junior doctor wishing to pursue a career in cardiology and is especially aimed at those individuals wishing to gain some cardiology experience in preparation for applying to a training scheme to obtain a national training number (NTN) in cardiology.  There is a well-established track record for holders of the Fellow post to successfully gain a NTN. The clinical work involves complex cardiology inpatients, referrals and outpatient clinics covering a wide range of cardiology sub-specialities. Out of hours on call commitment (1 in 14 shared with specialist training registrars) is based at the Trent Cardiac Centre and is largely cardiology only. Some on-call may be shared with G(I)M.
