The Anaesthetic department at PRUH and South Sites part of Kings NHS Trust is delighted to advertise this SCF in Anaesthesia

This post is aimed primarily at senior anaesthetic trainees, or qualified anaesthetists wishing to gain experience in a broad range of anaesthesia as well as further experience in regional anaesthesia.

We deliver anaesthesia for a range of general and subspecialty areas including, Maxillofacial, Bariatrics,  General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics and Trauma.

This post would be suitable for any Doctor looking for a senior fellowship.  The appointee will be expected to participate fully in the educational and training programmes within the Department and the Hospital. The appointee will have a named educational supervisor and be expected to undergo annual review and appraisal. Annual leave and Study leave is commensurate with other post foundation doctors

### Main duties of the job

All employees are expected to undertake work on any of the Trust's  PRUH and South sites as required by the service. As an employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients.   Integral to these responsibilities is the following: -

- The provision of a first-class clinical service.
- Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty.
- Sustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with King’s College London / KHP.
- Undertaking all work in accordance with the Trust’s procedures and operating policies.
- Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust’s service plans.
- Maintaining the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Care Group or the Trust.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- This is a replacement post. King’s College Hospital requires senior clinical fellows in anaesthesia to work flexibly within the multi–disciplinary team at PRUH and South Sites. Clinical duties include delivering anaesthesia  for general surgical, orthopaedic and other clinical specialties, and involvement in post-operative care.  On call duties will be rotated between the Main Theatres, Obstetric Theatres and  Labour ward. This post would be suitable for any Doctor looking for a senior fellowship to achieve CESR accreditation or a post CCT Fellow looking for further specialist experience. We have a proactive encouraging approach to doctors wishing to achieve CESR and have successfully supported a number of colleagues through the process. The appointee will be expected to participate fully in the educational and training programmes within the Department and the Hospital. The appointee will have a named college tutor and educational supervisor and be expected to undergo annual review and appraisal. Annual leave and study leave is commensurate with other post foundation doctors. The post will be based at the PRUH and South  Sites of King’s College Hospital and performance will be reviewed within 3 months of the postholder commencing in post.  All employees are expected to undertake work on any of the sites as required by the service. As an employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients.
