Senior Cardiac Physiologist – Cardiac Invasive Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join the Cardiology Department at Barts Health NHS Trust. Based primarily at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the successful candidate will work as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive cardiology services, with cross-site working across the Trust as required. The role will involve supporting the day-to-day delivery of cardiac investigations and procedures, including cardiac catheter laboratory procedures, cardiac rhythm management pathways, device follow-up clinics and a range of non-invasive diagnostic tests. The successful applicant will also contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the training and supervision of junior staff and trainees.  PLEASE NOTE: This vacancy is recruiting for 3 roles (1 permanent full time role, 1 fixed term 12 months full time role and 1 fixed term 12 months part time(22.5 hours) role. The fixed term posts are for Maternity cover.

### Main duties of the job

Applicants should be competent in non-invasive cardiac investigations and have experience working within a cardiac catheter laboratory environment. Experience in cardiac rhythm management, including pacemaker, ICD and CRT follow-up, would be advantageous. Candidates working towards independent practice in device therapies and BHRS accreditation are encouraged to apply. - - Knowledge of implantable loop recorder implant, follow up and pathways
- - Knowledge of ECG procedures, physiologist led exercise stress testing.

**Desirable**

- - Basic EP knowledge
- - High degree of knowledge in medical terminology.

### Experience

**Essential**

- · Experience across a broad range of cardiac diagnostic and intervention procedures
- · Experience working in a healthcare environment, working alongside clinical and managerial staff
- · Experience of communicating directly with patients/carers and visitors

**Desirable**

- - Experience in device implant and follow up
- - Experience of training people
- - Ability to perform a range of diagnostic tests and provide factual reports with minimum supervision

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- - BSc Cardiac Science or equivalent
- - BHRS/IBHRE accreditation (working towards, in part or completed)
- - Immediate Life Support

**Desirable**

- · SCST/RCCP/AHCS/HCPC registration.
- · IBHRE/BHRS/EHRA certification
