### Job summary

An excellent development opportunity has arisen within the Commercial Team at NHS Blood & Transplant to build on your skills working on procurement and contract management in a range of categories.

This role provides you with an excellent opportunity to develop your procurement career whilst working in a professional procurement team.

You will undertake an extensive induction and training programme and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions.

### Main duties of the job

In this role you will be part of a dedicated team of procurement professionals responsible for negotiating and managing a variety of business-critical commercial contracts and framework agreements for the provision of goods and services to NHSBT.

- Working with the Senior Commercial Managers, suppliers and internal directorate customers to manage the contracting process end to end, to ensure that all interested parties needs are met.
- Being responsible for assisting the National Contracts Managers and National Procurement Manager in delivering contracts that are robust, free from risk, legally binding and importantly cost efficient and effective.
- Ensuring that NHSBT can demonstrate to the public through the scrutiny of internal and external audit, that it obtains best value for money on its contracted non-pay expenditure and achieves savings targets.
- Carrying out supplier management to ensure in contract delivery of expected benefits to NHSBT from the contract and ensure supplier performance and where relevant supplier development.
- Ensuring compliance with Public Contract Regulations and The Procurement Act 2023, including the legally mandated directives, policy notes and NHSBT Standing Orders and Financial Instructions

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Demonstrable experience in a computerised office environment, preferably within procurement or logistics.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of legislation covering goods and services.
- Experience in formal contracting regulated success.
- Evidence of working and contributing as part of a team.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
- Basic knowledge of commercial markets.
- Experience of using Microsoft packages.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to GCSE standard. Must include passes in Mathematics and English Language or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in this area.
- Must be willing to study for MCIPS or equivalent.
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
