### Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Assistant Technical Officer to join our pharmacy technical services product store at Guys Hospital.

The pharmacy technical services team manufacture a broad range of  unlicensed medicine for supply to GSTT , to the wider NHS plus wholesalers and community pharmacies.

The post holder will support the day to day activities of the store, including the inventory,  and for the supply and distribution of medicines.

Attention to detail, good communication skills and ability to follow procedures are essential.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will work within a small team to help manage the inventory and facilitate the supply of un-licensed medicines , which are not commercially available, to hospitals, wholesalers and community pharmacies.

You will have experience of working in pharmacy manufacturing, a pharmacy QA/QC laboratory, pharmacy stores, hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy.

You must be able to show you can work accurately, efficiently and follow procedures at all times. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Demonstrates ability to communicate information effectively using clear written and spoken English
- Demonstrates basic numeracy skills, the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Demonstrated ability to accurately follow written and oral instructions
- Demonstrates organisation skills, time management and prioritising of workload

### Experience

**Essential**

- Previous experience of working in pharmacy manufacturing, a pharmacy QA/QC laboratory, pharmacy stores, hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE English, Maths & Science Grade A to C or equivalent
- NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 2

**Desirable**

- NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3- optional units: or relevant experience to pharmacy practice area or equivalent
