At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the Sleep Physiology team based at both Royal Stoke and County site.

The Sleep Physiology Service provides a comprehensive range of investigations and treatments for patients with a wide range of sleep disorders. The post holder will assist in the provision of the department's Sleep Physiology Service. The duties will include preparing patients for sleep investigation, issue and download of home diagnostic equipment and recognition of  valid data, maintenance and calibration of equipment and helping to deal with patients' CPAP therapy issues.

Applicants should have a good standard of general education. It is desirable that the applicant has a scientific background, be computer literate, has worked in the health care sector and has access to a vehicle.

### Main duties of the job

Service operating hours are 08:30 – 19:30 Monday to Friday and the post holder will be required to work between these and all hospital sites including the CDC.

- An understanding of sleep medicine terminology
- Have an understanding of infection prevention

- Liaise with other team members regarding stock control and ordering
- The post holder may have contact with patients who have varying mental, emotional and physical needs; they will need to display tact, diplomacy, empathy and compassion whilst remainingprofessional and at times assertive.
- The post holder will be required to work within the boundaries of their role, recognising when to refer or escalate to senior colleagues.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Working within the field of sleep medicine
- Experience in issuing and downloading sleep diagnostics

**Desirable**

- Understanding of Philips ‘Alice’ diagnostic equipment
- Understanding of Philips ‘Nox’ diagnostic equipment

- Good communication skills both written and oral
