We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our innovative and supportive Renal Medicines Service. We provide expert pharmaceutical care for people with kidney disease across South West Wales from our integrated hub in Morriston Hospital.

You will play a vital role in patient care. You will work alongside pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, another pharmacy ATO, and the wider renal multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the safe dispensing, receipt, storage and organisation of medicines on relevant inpatient wards and clinical areas, including dialysis units.

There may also be opportunities, depending on service needs, for you to undertake relevant medicines management training/competencies appropriate to the role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply

You should be able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate confidently with colleagues, patients and the wider multidisciplinary team. Good IT skills, attention to detail, and strong organisational and prioritisation skills are essential.

You should be able to work autonomously and flexibly, responding to the changing demands of the service. You should also be able to work calmly under pressure and manage challenging situations appropriately and professionally.

Main duties of the role include:

- Contributing to the safe and accurate dispensing, distribution and storage of medicines to patients, wards, and departments
- Using pharmacy and other electronic systems to undertake tasks accurately and efficiently
- Contributing to the delivery of a safe, effective, and efficient renal pharmacy service while supporting high-quality patient care
- Participate in routine pharmacy housekeeping duties
- Assisting with the training and support of staff within the department
- Adhere to medicines legislation and other relevant policies, procedures, and Health Board requirement
- Ensure the maintenance of required departmental, ethical, and service standard
- Participating in rotas covering weekend, bank holiday, and extended hours working, where required.

- GCSE at grade C or above in English and maths or equivalent qualifications.
