An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Assistant Psychologist to join our Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (Community Team) based in Haywards Heath and East Grinstead. The post-holder will be expected to work across both sites. This is a full time fixed-term post, currently funded up until December 2027.

The post holder will hold an honours degree in Psychology that confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society and will have experience of working with people experiencing mental health difficulties. We are seeking someone with experience of delivering psychologically-informed interventions in both a group and individual format, within clinical settings. The post holder will support the delivery of psychologically informed care within the team, contributing to assessment, formulation, intervention, service evaluation and audit activities under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.

The post offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within an adult community mental health setting, working with people experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, psychosis, complex emotional difficulties and trauma-related presentations.

Regular supervision from a Clinical Psychologist will be provided, alongside opportunities for professional development and participation in psychology team meetings and training.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide outstanding care and treatment, co-ordinate care provided, support people with their recovery journey, offer time limited interventions including individual and group, monitor risks, and collaborate with carers and families. The post holder will support the collection and analysis of routine outcome measures, and contribute to audit and service evaluation.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology, or equivalent. Eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartership with the BPS

### Knowledge/Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working with people with complex needs
- Experience of working with people with disabilities, in a health or Mental Health setting and or work with people with complex needs
- Relevant clinical and research skills
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Basic knowledge of databases, research skills and methodology
- Experience of group work and individual therapeutic contact
- Ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a health context
