A recognised qualification in counselling/ psychotherapy is essential, along with accreditation (not just registration) with a relevant professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC). Social work qualifications are not applicable for this role. Experience in delivering evidence-based interventions such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, or trauma-informed approaches is highly desirable. The role also requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
