### Job overview

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join our Psychology Administration Team as a Medical Secretary / Assistant Team Leader.

This is a newly created role which provides great opportunity for collaboration and autonomy, as part of an established administration team. You will be responsible for the daily administrative tasks that are necessary in supporting a large Psychology service.

Broad experience of NHS IT systems and experience in a secretarial job are essential to this role. Applicants with experience in an NHS /medical setting would be an advantage.

You will need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to provide the required support for queries, questions, advice, and provide support for both patients and the widespread clinical team, comprising of Neuropsychologists, Clinical health Psychologists, and Staff support Psychologists. In return, you will join a supportive team as part of an expanding and growing service.

This post is based at the Salford Royal site, in the Clinical Sciences Building.

There will be a combination of onsite working and working from home (to be discussed at interview)

This post is full time 37.5 hours a week, working Monday - Friday

### Main duties of the job

- You will need to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.
- You will need to be a self-motivated individual with proven secretarial skills, excellent audio typing ability, diary management, and an excellent telephone manner as is the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- You will need to be able to work to set deadlines and be calm under pressure as this is a very busy and at times demanding environment with a willingness to undertake and learn new tasks.
- You will be responsible for the coordination of patient care with surgical colleagues within the trust, for patients undergoing treatment in relation to awake craniotomy, Deep brain stimulation, and epilepsy.
- Daily tasks will involve, but not be limited to, Outcoming of appointments, answering of telephones, booking appointments, liaising with patients, email management, room booking, waiting list management, audio typing & processing of referrals.
- You will deputise for the current Team Leader where necessary and help support managerial colleagues and key stake holders, contributing to the direction and growth of the service.
- You will be responsible for supervision, staff rotas, raising of invoices, rostering data input for annual leave and sickness.
