We are currently seeking adaptable, and patient focused candidates to work within our West Ambulance Control Centre as part of our busy Scheduled Care team.This role includes three key skillsets: Call Handling, Planning, and on the Day Controlling of Patient Transport services. You will manage inbound and outbound calls, gathering and assessing information from patients and healthcare professionals. You will plan and schedule patient journeys, allocating resources effectively to ensure eligible patients receive ambulance transport appropriate to their clinical and mobility needs. In addition, you will day control Patient Transport vehicles, working closely with ambulance crews, Health Boards, and partner organisations to respond to changes and ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of the service.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision. Strong IT skills, including accurate keyboard use of at least 30 words per minute, are essential, along with proven communication and problem solving abilities. Comprehensive system training will be provided.

These are full time relief posts, working 36 hours per week across seven days. As a relief member of staff, you will be required to work a balanced mix of shifts, to support service needs. Shifts will be rostered between 07:30 and 18:00 Monday to Friday.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
