### Job overview

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is a fully integrated acute and community healthcare provider, delivering services throughout East Sussex. The variety of rotations and opportunities to work cross county provides an ideal platform for band 6 physiotherapists to develop a wide range of skills to be successful within their chosen career.

You will need to be able to drive with a full UK licence and access to a vehicle due to the geographic area covered by the team

### Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will participate in a six-monthly rotation scheme, covering two intermediate care sites. The role involves close working with other members of the MDT and requires motivation and skill to deliver the high-quality services to the local population. The rotations on offer cover neurology (including ABI, stroke rehabilitation and Spinal cord injury), orthopaedics, amputee management, frailty, and complex discharge planning.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Confident with core physiotherapy skills
- Will have the ability to carry out physiotherapy assessment and intervention incorporating manual physiotherapy techniques, therapeutic handling and safe use of equipment, using the skills of highly developed dexterity, co-ordination and palpatory senses
- Flexible approach to work so able to work alone and within an MDT

### Experience

**Essential**

- Full range of undergraduate placements
- 2 years post graduate experience within an acute hospital environment
- Completion of core rotations (must include orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and respiratory)

**Desirable**

- Experience as a band 6 physiotherapist
- Experience within acute neurological rehabilitation services

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Diploma / degree in physiotherapy Current registrant as required by HPC
- Post-graduate qualification or proven equivalent experience / training in a relevant field
- Evidence of continued professional development

**Desirable**

- Post graduate qualifications in a relevant topic
- Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
