We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate registered Occupational Therapy candidates who are keen to consolidate and continue to develop their core Occupational Therapy skills and practise.

The Band 5 Occupational Therapy Rotation is Trust Wide and offers candidates the opportunity to work within physical, mental health, forensic and learning disability services  across the Merseycare footprint, enabling opportunities within community and in-patient provision.

As a valued member of the Occupational Therapy workforce, training, CPD, supervision and preceptorship opportunities are available as standard to support you on your Occupational Therapy career journey in order to develop holistic skills sets.

### Main duties of the job

The successful post holders will join a varied and well-established Band 5 Occupational Therapy 6 monthly rotational programme.

You will be using evidence based/ patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions of the service user group.

The post holder will take a holistic approach in the assessment and treatment of service users / patients, being responsible for the provision of appropriate, high quality Occupational Therapy to a defined caseload.

You will work in partnership with other professionals and as an integral member of the Occupational Therapy teams and wider MDT, supporting service user's and their families and carer's side by side.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The skills required for this post include practical problem solving skills, with sound clinical reasoning skills. An effective team player; and have excellent organisational and communication skills required to work in a busy service.

To be considered for this post you must have:

- BSc degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration or an Occupational Therapy Student due to graduate.
- Experience of working with patients with Physical Health conditions and/or Mental Health conditions and/or Learning Disabilities and/or Paediatrics.
- An understanding of the impact of these conditions on patient’s lives.
- Experience of undertaking holistic assessments.
- The ability to transport self around the community.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Have an understanding of clinical and environmental risk assessment
- Evidence of CPD/Short courses

**Desirable**

- Familiar with Electronic Patient Records Management and clinical leadership

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge and ability to express an understanding of therapeutic process including formulation of intervention plans grounded in clinical reasoning

**Desirable**

- A basic understanding of Relevant legislation including The Mental Capacity Act

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of relevant Therapy functional assessment
- Experience of successful team working Experience of liaison with internal and external services and agencies
- General knowledge of the principles of clinical governance

**Desirable**

- Experience of serviced development audit and research practice relevant to the clinical area
- Experience of planning and facilitating therapeutic groups for patients / clients Experience of service development
- Experience of being involved in clinical audit and/or research

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Enhanced DBS Disclosure
- Registered AHP relevant to your profession with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Diploma / Degree in relevant profession

**Desirable**

- Member of Professional Body
