Clinical areas are currently as follows (in no particular order and subject to change): Medicine, Respiratory, Trauma Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Stroke and Neurology, Oncology, No Criteria to Reside Unit. As an Occupational Therapist you will have direct input into the assessment,  treatment and reablement of patients who present within acute care with varying degrees of complexity, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life. We are seeking people who can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build social networks working in partnership with other agencies to identify and address the immediate need. Current or pending professional registration (HCPC) is required for this post hence applicants will need to hold (or be awaiting) a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy. This role is ideal for new Occupational Therapy graduates taking their first step into professional life. ### Main duties of the job The post holder will be self motivated and aspirational, be able to assess in an effective and timely manner in a rapid paced environment. Confidence in enabling patients in positive risk taking, personalised care, assessment of capacity, manual handling, functional assessments and knowledge of the SAFER principles will be enhanced and nurtured within this role. Rotations across clinical areas occur approximately every 6 months to enable post-holders to develop and consolidate clinical skills as appropriate to the area.
