The programme includes year-long rotations through areas such as acute medicine, elderly care and long-term conditions, gastroenterology, critical care, urology, thoracic surgery, neurosciences, hyperacute stroke, HIV and sexual health, and women’s health including neonates. ### Main duties of the job Your principal job role will focus on direct patient care, applying your therapeutics knowledge and skills to ensure that all our patients receive safe and effective medication throughout their time with the Trust, as both an inpatient and outpatient. You will use your excellent analytical skills to gather and process relevant information held within our electronic health records system, Epic, to achieve optimal outcomes. Many of the rotations support tertiary services and offer exposure and experience of cutting-edge practice in rapidly developing diagnostic and therapeutic areas, which require continually evolving approaches to medicines management. You will also be introduced to core directorate activities such as reporting and analysis of medicines expenditure, budget planning for tariff-excluded high-cost drugs, project management, clinical governance activities, and more general management and leadership roles. With a broad base of general and specific clinical experience, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will also contribute towards the clinical supervision of multi-professional undergraduate students and the mentorship of trainee pharmacists and postgraduate diploma students.
