As a Retail Catering Assistant you will become an active member of our team working to provide Retail customer service experience for staff and visitors in our busy restaurants. Provide a front-of-house service which is customer focused and includes preparing and providing beverages, snacks meal items, cash handling, the use of a till, temperature recording and restocking of goods. There will also be a need for some minimal food preparation with cleaning and washing up responsibilities. Our Team provides a safe, friendly customer service environment for our Staff, Patients and Visitors. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities General Duties - Adhere to good Customer service. - Cash handling and the using of tills. - Maintaining good hygiene practices within the department. - Preparation of drinks and snacks to Brand standards - Food preparation as required in the main production kitchen. - Ensuring that foods are checked for suitability for special diets. - Working within chilled areas and in wet environments. - Able to accurately record and monitor temperatures to required frequencies. - Washing of crockery and cutlery and catering utensils use industrial machines, also manually washing when required. - Responsibility, for ensuring the high standards of cleanliness is maintained throughout the work area adhering to Trust Policies and Procedures. - To carry out cleaning tasks, both specific and generic, to prescribed work schedules for designated areas, in line with Trust policies and procedures - Ensuring the correct and economical use of materials, provisions and equipment and seeking advice from Supervisor when in doubt. - Report to you Team leader any mechanical defects and any equipment and any mishaps or untoward incidents. ## Job Details The retail catering service provides a high quality service to staff and visitors to our hospitals and maintains a high standard in customer care.
