We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and clinically focused individual to join the busy and highly respected Resuscitation Service at Whittington Health, working across both acute and community settings.

We provide a comprehensive resuscitation service, offering expert support and leadership during emergency calls across all specialties. As part of the deteriorating patient pathway programme, we are committed to delivering high-quality training and patient care to help reduce in-hospital mortality.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery and coordination of a wide range of resuscitation training programmes, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Immediate Life Support (ILS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Newborn Life Support (NLS), Paediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS), Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). The role will include coordinating ATLS courses and supporting multidisciplinary simulation training for nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals.

The successful candidate will attend the Trust Resuscitation Committee, providing professional advice on resuscitation practice, policy development, training, clinical governance, and equipment. They will also develop and maintain professional links within the Trust, across clinical networks, and nationally to support continuous improvement in resuscitation practice.

An informal visit is strongly encouraged.

### Main duties of the job

To provide Whittington Hospital NHS Trust with the highest possible level of specific training and education in resuscitation thus, enabling practitioners to perform effectively therefore improving patient care and reducing clinical risk.

To undertake risk assessments to provide the Trust and lead Resuscitation Officer with accurate information regarding resuscitation related risks.

To undertake trust wide audit of resuscitation training, practice and equipment to highlight areas for service improvement.

To assist on the development of resuscitation related policies in conjunction with the resuscitation committee and the Lead Resuscitation Officer.

Raise the profile of resuscitation issues amongst all staff caring for patients within the Trust.

### Work experience

**Essential**

- Experience in critical care / emergency settings

**Desirable**

- Senior clinical experience in emergency care

### Academic qualification

**Essential**

- Experienced Band 6 Health Care Professional
- ALS/EPALS/ATLS provider
- Teaching/Mentoring qualification
- Post Grad Clinical qualification, such as physial assessment or clinical resoning, ITU, A&E course

**Desirable**

- ALS/EPALS/ATLS/NLS Instructor
- Experience in committee work
- Project management skills
- ALS/EPALS/ATLS/NLS Course Director
- 1 year + experience as a resuscitation educator

### Previous work involment

- Experience auditing practice
