This is a fixed term/secondment post until 11/06/2027.

If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

Hywel Dda University Health Board Research and Development team is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Research Assistant to provide administrative support for commercial / non-commercial clinical trials and research studies across the Health Board.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the administration and data management support for all aspects of the Research Delivery Team at Glangwili Hospital, as well as working alongside a large geographically spread team to support researchers with high quality studies throughout the health board.

The post holder will need a willingness to learn about research trial set-up, protocols and their application to practice, including local, national and international research regulations, which should enable them to assist in the support of the research delivery team.  They should be willing to work flexibly to support the service, have excellent communication, organisational and computer literacy skills as well as being able to work well as part of a team.

Informal visits are welcomed to discuss the role.

The Research Assistant will work as part of the research delivery team supporting work on Health and Care Research Wales Portfolio studies.  The main purpose of the job is to: -

- Provide administrative and data management support for all aspects of the trial organisation as an integrated member of the team
- Assist with the co-ordination of a portfolio of clinical trials across various disease sites
- Provide a limited amount of clinical support where appropriate to facilitate the delivery of a clinical trial.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Experience of working in clinical trials.
- Experience of using Patient Information Systems

### Qualifications & Knowledge

**Essential**

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge in healthcare
- Knowledge of Medical / Healthcare Terminology

**Desirable**

- Diploma or degree in relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge
- Certificate in ICH Good Clinical Practice
- Knowledge of the principles of clinical trials
