Oxford Health Research and Development (R&D) supports cutting-edge mental health and community research aimed at improving patient outcomes and care.

We are seeking an fixed term Administrator to work primarily within the Biomedical Research Centre: Oxford Health (BRC-OH). The BRC plays a key role in delivering translational research and enabling early-phase studies.

You will be well organised, flexible, and have strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage a varied workload, including work within core R&D functions. ### Main duties of the job

- Administrative support across the BRC/R&D Department, including word processing, document formatting, meeting support and senior diary management.
- Attendance at meetings, taking accurate minutes, producing action logs, and distributing key information in a timely manner.
- Supporting event planning and coordination (e.g., away days, small conferences).
- Day-day management of bespoke and non-bespoke R&D/BRC systems (full training will be provided)

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Relevant office administration experience, including experience of arranging and servicing meetings and taking and transcribing minutes.
- Administrative experience in a healthcare environment, such as the NHS.
- Experience of maintaining efficient paper and computerised office filing systems.

**Desirable**

- Administrative experience in a clinical research environment.

### Knowledge Requirements

**Essential**

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Conversant in the Internet and the use of web-based systems.
- Knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures.
- Understanding of information governance and security in relation to patient data.

**Desirable**

- Awareness of current legislation regarding research governance and data protection.

### Qualifications - Academic/Skills/Professional

**Essential**

- Higher Education qualification (i.e. A-Level/NVQ Level 3 standard), or equivalent/previous experience in an Administration Assistant role.

### Further Training or Job-Related Aptitude and Skills

**Essential**

- IT literate and confident in the use of IT systems and web-based communication tools, such as Microsoft Teams.
- Proven ability of working in a team environment and delivering team objectives.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise sometimes conflicting workloads and manage own time effectively.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise workload in a challenging and demanding environment.

**Desirable**

- RSA III Typing/Word Processing, or equivalent.
