The post holder will be supported in their work by a Image Support Worker; and the ideal candidate should be skilled in general, gynae and small parts ultrasound. You need to be able to work independently, demonstrating a high level of competence (aligned to NHS pathways, NICE and BMUS guidelines) and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Candidates should be skilled in general abdominal and gynae scanning. Experience in small parts, lumps and bumps, and vascular scanning (DVT) would also be an advantage. To prioritise and organise own caseload. To be able to work independently within a clearly defined set of department protocols and make informed clinical decisions in the absence of a Radiologist or seek a second opinion when required. For each examination undertaken, a comprehensive diagnostic report will be formulated and returned to the referring clinician. The post holder/s will be accountable for their own professional actions (including reporting) and have supervision responsibilities.
