Our multi-skilled sonographer team rotate across all three sites and provide a 7 day emergency service at the Lister Hospital, which is our acute site and is working towards 7 day working at the New QEII hospital to support the newly established Community Diagnostic Hub. We support sonographer development and training and our sonographers are valued members of multi-disciplinary teams across obstetrics, gynaecology, vascular, musculo-skeletal and general medicine. We support flexible working and have shifts working weekends and evenings. This post attracts a 10% recruitment and retention premium. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us. ### Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work as an independent practitioner by performing ultrasound scans to a high diagnostic standard, formulating a report, and communicating the results to the appropriate clinician and to be accountable for own professional actions. You will perform and report a wide range of ultrasound examinations, working within agreed protocols (abdominal, gynaecology including transvaginal scanning, obstetric, vascular, and paediatric). You will possess the ability to make clinical judgements and critical decisions of the highest order, using knowledge, skills and experience. The post holder will support ongoing professional development and encourage involvement with in-house training schemes to expand clinical experience. There is also monthly in-house teaching and audit sessions where your participation is encouraged.
