### Job overview

A Porter/Driver is required to work full time 37.5 hours per week over a 24 hour 7 day week  within the Portering Service at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

You will also be required to be flexible in your working pattern as you may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Please note we do not accept CVs, all applications can only be considered if they have gone through TRAC.

You will be required to carry out the full range of portering duties, which may include driving vehicles off and on, site, transfer of patients around the site by wheelchair, trolley or bed, including deceased patients and all associated mortuary duties.

You may also be required to transfer medical notes and medical supplies around the hospital site to various wards and departments.

- Ability to walk pushing a patient in bed, on a trolley or in a wheelchair along variations in levels
- Maintain Confidentiality as all times
- Good attendance / time keeping
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexibly and to use own initiative and show a positive attitude to Capable of working outside in poor weather conditions Application form / interview / references change

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of dealing with members of the public

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of working in a hospital
- Portering knowledge
- Understanding of Health and Safety

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Willingness to undertake training and development as appropriate
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence

**Desirable**

- Basic Maths and English Qualifications
