### Job summary

The Relief Kitchen Assistant will play an important role within Jewish Cares Catering & Hospitality team, providing high-quality hospitality services across our campuses, care homes and community centres in North West London. This is a relief/bank role, working on a casual basis to cover staff absence and operational needs, with no guaranteed hours. Shifts generally run from 7am to 3pm, with occasional weekend working as required, across Golders Green, Hendon and surrounding areas of Barnet. Duties include basic food preparation such as vegetables, salads and sandwiches, preparing dining areas and food counters, serving hot and cold food and beverages, maintaining clean and hygienic environments, and operating the till and cashing up when required. Previous busy kitchen experience is desirable, alongside good communication, literacy and numeracy skills. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, or you must be willing to undertake the qualification.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and flexible Relief Kitchen Assistant to join our Catering & Hospitality team and provide support across our North West London services. This is a varied relief role where you will help ensure residents, community members, visitors and colleagues receive a welcoming and professional hospitality service. You will support basic food preparation, serve hot and cold food and beverages, prepare dining areas for service, maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and operate the till when required. You will work across different Jewish Care locations, including campuses, care homes and community centres, so a flexible approach and willingness to work as part of different teams are important. Our multi-award-winning organisation is looking to recruit a Relief Kitchen Assistant to join our Hospitality team. This role may include some weekend working.

- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Willing to undertake appropriate training (e.g., Supervision, NVQ Training)
