This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about education, youth work, health promotion and supporting young people to thrive. Working alongside our RSE Co-ordinator, you will deliver engaging, evidence-based RSE sessions in schools across Barnsley. You will: - Deliver lessons and small-group sessions - Provide targeted interventions - Support young people aged 11-18 to build confidence, resilience, recognise risk and develop healthy relationships You will help deliver programmes that: - Reduce sexually transmitted infections (STIs) - Prevent underage conceptions - Raise awareness of substance misuse - Improve emotional wellbeing - Tackle health inequalities Every session has the potential to positively influence a young person's future. ### Main duties of the job About You We are looking for someone with: - Experience working with young people - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - Creativity, enthusiasm and drive - An interest in education, youth work, public health, safeguarding or community engagement This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain transferable skills for careers in teaching, youth work, social work, public health and health promotion, while working within a supportive team focused on prevention and early intervention. The post holder will collate and input the base line data collected from RSE lessons to ensure progress and learning. Successful candidates will have a drive to improve health equality for young people and understand ways of delivering resilience promoting messages. ## Person Specification ### Application Form **Essential** - Relevant Level 3 Qualifications for example, A levels, level 3 NVQ, advanced apprenticeship or substantial relevant experience in youth work/healthcare. Plus, experience in sexual health and the intellectual ability to undertake the role. - Relationships and Sexual health Education in schools and the wider community - Experience of working with groups of young people in diverse settings including the hard to reach and those with specific learning needs. - Excellent communication skills, especially with young people, professionals, and underrepresented groups. - Post qualification experience in a formal or an informal education set-ting (school/college/youth work) Experience of working with a variety of professionals providing support and education. **Desirable** - Awareness of statutory Relationship, Sex and Health Education legislation. . Understanding public health and education policy around health inequalities and complex vulnerabilities. - NVQ level 3 in Health or equivalent qualification in healthcare. - Ability to use ICT including online platforms such as Microsoft 365/Teams and zoom.
