Eastbourne Theatres are looking to recruit a Registered Nurse and/or Operating Department Practitioner to join our theatre teams as a Scrub Practitioner in the trauma and orthopaedic team.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic and caring individual who is able to work within a challenging theatre environment delivering a high standard of safe care and effective practice.

Theatres cover a wide range of specialities including General Surgery, Urology, Breast, ENT, Max Fax, and provide 24 hour emergency cover. You will be required to cover on call shifts over night and weekends.

You must be committed to cooperative team working at all times.

The theatre department is committed to offering a first rate service and supporting staff development.

We have a dedicated full time practice educator who will provide support and continued professional development with opportunities to enhance your experience.

Previous theatre experience essential due to the limited job contract period.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

### Experience

- Experience of working in a Healthcare setting.
- Previous experience of working as part of a team

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner
- Level 7 IELTS (International English Language Testing System) qualification.
- Evidence of relevant CPD
- Revalidation documents

**Desirable**

- Working towards Mentorship and CPD at degree level

### Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

**Essential**

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and non-verbal
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Able to work effectively in stressful situations where the work pattern is unpredictable, highly distressing and be able to concentrate for prolonged periods of time
- Highly developed psychomotor skills, to work with delicate, specialist equipment and instrumentation.

**Desirable**

- Able to lead the multi-disciplinary team in the absence of more senior staff
- Risk assessor training and experience
