### Job summary

Based in Harleston, Norfolk, Richmond House is a level 2 rehabilitation service for those with a learning disability. We can support adult females with a range of needs, including those who are on the autism spectrum, those with a personality disorders, complex mental health needs, and those with a history of offending behaviours.

We support people to improve their skills and strengthen their independence, enabling safe continuation of care and transition into community placements.

### Main duties of the job

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
- Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress. Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
- Evaluate and respond to changes in patients condition and needs.
- Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families / carers.

## Person Specification

### Requirements

**Essential**

- The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 612 months of post-registration experience, holding an active NMC registration and having completed a preceptorship programme. They will possess a strong understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, along with evidence of ongoing post-registration continuing professional development. A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement, and quality are essential, as is the ability to adopt flexible and innovative approaches to practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidates should also have a minimum of six months post-registration experience within a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities care environment, with continued professional development in a relevant field.
