### Job summary

Priory Hospital Dewsbury is looking to recruit a registered psychologist to join the team in our rehabilitation and recovery ward and our neurocognitive/dementia service. This is a part time 22.5 hours role (hours are negotiable)

Based in the residential area of Earlsheaton, West Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Dewsbury provides level 2 rehabilitation services divided into two wards. Care is for male patients who have mental health disorders and we also offer neuropsychiatry support, support for older people and dementia, community-focused rehabilitation, and support for severe and enduring mental health.

### Job responsibilities

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a registered psychologist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

- Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking assessments to determine and plan an effective therapy programme for assigned clients using appropriate and relevant treatments, activities and interventions.
- Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions within the given field of therapy ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the client, and are consistent with the provisions detailed in the clients therapy plan.
- Manages an assigned caseload within agreed timescales ensuring regular interaction and communication with clients, professional colleagues and clinical staff.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised information systems and other associated documentation presenting and sharing relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned clients with professional and clinical colleagues at regular MDT meetings.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- This role requires a relevant Masters degree as a minimum qualification, along with a recognized post-graduate qualification and accreditation from a relevant professional institution such as BABCP, BCP, BPS, or an equivalent body. It is important that candidates have prior experience and practical exposure within their chosen field of therapy.
