The role is multi-dimensional and requires the post-holder to integrate and be a team player within the multidisciplinary team. The Registered health professional will co-ordinate and care for patients in a day care setting and operating theatre set in the Eye Centre. ### Main duties of the job - Strive for continuous improvements in the delivery of high quality patient focused care - Participate in the delivery of Key Performance Indicators, increasing theatre/departmental utilisation by reducing unscheduled and cancelled operations/ appointments and late starts - As part of the multi-disciplinary team, participate in the Who Five Steps to Safe Surgery for each patient. - Assess health related needs of patients and their carers to identify and initiate steps to deliver effective and evidence-based care. - Carries out allocated work delegated by the Doctor or the Ophthalmic Nurse Specialist. - This involves working independently and organising tasks and activities.
