Our workforce of almost 9,000 staff provide high quality emergency, elective and specialist care across a range of clinical areas.

The post anaesthetic care unit (Recovery) at Cheltenham General Hospital is seeking Nurses/ODPs to join their friendly and supportive team.

The CGH Recovery team currently consists of 43 members of staff who operate in 3 recovery areas. Specialties include Elective General Surgery, Urology, Breast, Colorectal, Upper GI, Gynae, Elective Orthopaedics, and Ophthalmology.

Our busy recovery areas equate to 22 beds in total and our daily throughput of patients can range from 30-50 per day.

Additional working pattern details: On call

We are currently offering a full time or part time position.  A professional, friendly attitude and effective communication skills are keys to becoming successful in this role. ### Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC/ HCPC
- United Kingdom recognised qualification in Adult Nursing/Operating Department Practice
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation
- If applying with anaesthetic skills, relevant UK recognised Anaesthetic Course required
- Experience (through placement or employment) of working in an acute clinical environment
- Willingness to develop new skills and competencies
- Be well organised, tidy and manage own workload efficiently and in a timely manner
- Mature and flexible approach to problem solving, to meet the demands of the service
- Excellent presentational, communication and interpersonal skills
