Full Time | Single Person Occupancy Service | Permanent Position

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Band 5 RNLD/RMN Nurse to join our dedicated team within the Whalley Learning Disability Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a single person occupancy setting, supporting an individual with complex learning disabilities and mental health needs to live a safe, meaningful, and person-centred life.

As a Band 5 Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within a specialist community setting. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external agencies to promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to build therapeutic relationships and make a genuine difference through consistent, individualised support.

Main Duties

Deliver high standards of nursing care in line with RNLD/RMN professional practice.

Develop and implement person-centred care plans and risk assessments.

Support the individual with daily living, emotional wellbeing, and behavioural support strategies.

Administer and monitor medication safely and effectively.

Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.

Work closely with psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and support staff.

Promote safeguarding, dignity, choice, and inclusion at all times.

Participate in shift leadership and contribute to service development.

Requirements

Registered Nurse qualification (RNLD or RMN) with valid NMC registration.

Experience working with people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.

Knowledge of positive behaviour support and person-centred approaches.

Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills.

Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including weekends and nights if required.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Good knowledge of legislation, acts and developments relevant to people with learning disabilities and mental illness within inpatient settings (MHA, MCA, Human rights act, Care Act)
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, behaviours that can present as a challenge, mental and physical health conditions, evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments relevant to the needs of this client group
- Understanding and knowledge of positive behaviour support

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of assessing, planning and implementing and reviewing care needs

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse RNLD/RMN On-going registration with the NMC.
- Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
