### Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join the team on Gate 34. Gate 34 is a 38 bedded acute Uro-Gynaecology ward at Pinderfields Hospital taking pre and post op patients as well as acute patients. Team work is paramount to the nursing care and there are opportunities to develop skills in both urology and gynaecology nursing as well as pregnancy loss.

### Main duties of the job

- Participating in the development and delivery of a philosophy of care which involves/respects the rights of patients carers and staff.
- Ability to relate to all staff and patients in a confident manner, demonstrating good listening skills and able to work effectively as part of team.
- Utilising and contributing to resources within the ward environment which encourage evidence based nursing.
- Promoting patient/carer independence through relevant teaching and support.
- Supporting and enabling professional development of team members.
- Undertaking own personal development to meet identified needs.
- Participating in the assessment of health related needs of patients and their families/careers.
- Contributing towards the formulation of a plan of care with the patient and their family/carers.
- Delivering direct care to patients in accordance with the Trusts policies and NMC Guidelines.
- Continually assessing and evaluating the patients condition and the effectiveness of the care delivered with a senior member of the team.
